It is week 11 in the review of the CRM Field Guide chapters from the book – The CRM Field Guide – How to CRM Like an MVP with Microsoft Dynamics CRM. This week it is the monster 72 page Dynamics CRM Goal Management chapter. Why is it rated as a ‘monster’ chapter? – it gives you more than 50 pages of practical real world insight into the topic. It could standalone based on it’s value and therefore could be sold as it’s own ‘book’.
The notion of configuring a Goal in CRM sounds easy – define the metric, design the chart – well it isn’t that quite a two step process. Additionally, there are many options, configuration settings, security factors and goal rollup to attend to. Defining Goals is kind of like creating workflows in CRM, digging right into the deceivingly simple interface should come after planning ahead on paper what you want to accomplish.
