Form Editor – What’s up with the Blue Fields

Today, while working with a budding Power User I was asked a question about the form editor. The individual was wondering why some of the fields were shaded blue and others weren’t.

This isn’t a question I have been hit with before so I had to think about it. After a few seconds, I realized the person was asking about the indicator for which fields are set to read-only by the form level field properties.

Seems so simple but it’s just another one of those nice features that the product team put in place years ago with the form editor. Something a User Interface pro would think of, not us common folk.

How do you make a field Read Only at the form level? Go to field properties for the field from the designer by double clicking on the field in question.
